![]() I began a cycle of downloading, installing, and testing for Java-and finding no plug-in installed. However, when I looked at my control panels list after the uninstallation, there was no update 40 and no Java control panel! ![]() So I uninstalled update 9, thinking that would leave me with a clean copy of update 40. I installed "Advanced Uninstaller PRO" which told me that I had, in addition to Java 7 update 40, a copy of Java 7 update 9. ![]() I am using an HP envy m4, 15" laptop running Windows 8. Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
